• Dr. Hiroshi Nakajima - Graduated in 1955 from Naruto University of Education. Served as Director-General of the World Health Organization.
• Dr. Masatoshi Koshiba - Graduated in 1951 from NUE. Nobel Laureate in Physics in 2002 for his contributions to the detection of cosmic neutrinos.
• Dr. Toshihide Maskawa - Graduated in 1962 from Naruto University of Education. Nobel Laureate in Physics in 2008 for his work on the theory of quark mixing.
• Dr. Susumu Tonegawa - Graduated in 1963 from NUE. Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine in 1987 for his discovery of the genetic principle for generation of antibody diversity.
