Weather and Climate at NUDT

The National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) is located in Changsha, Hunan Province, China. The city experiences a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons:

• Spring (March to May): Temperatures range from 10°C to 25°C (50°F to 77°F). It is often rainy and humid.
• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 35°C (77°F to 95°F). Frequent thunderstorms and heavy rainfall occur.
• Autumn (September to November): Cooler with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F). Less humid and more comfortable.
• Winter (December to February): Cold with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C (32°F to 50°F). Occasional snow and frost can occur.

The weather can affect commuting and campus life, especially during the hot and humid summer months, where air conditioning becomes essential. Outdoor research activities may be limited during heavy rain or extreme cold.
