Nitte Institute of Architecture, part of Nitte (Deemed to be University), offers a dynamic work environment focused on architectural education and innovation, with opportunities for professional growth and community engagement.
Established in 2015, Nitte Institute of Architecture (NIA) in Mangalore, India, was envisioned as a design school with a special emphasis on Tropical Architecture. The fundamental ideas behind our programs were drafted after gathering inputs from internationally acclaimed, eminent architects from India, USA and Europe. We have also laboured through meticulous consultations and discussions with professionals in academics, design and research fields.
Nitte (Deemed to be University) is located in the midst of the stunning mountain ranges of the Western Ghats and the coast of the Arabian sea. The rich flora and fauna of the Ghats have inspired us to appreciate the tropical elements and the divine geometry in nature. The beauty of the pristine Mangalore coast was one of our prime inspirations to create NIA and imbibe Tropical Architecture as a fundamental building block.
When viewed holistically, at NIA, architecture is one element in the giant wheel that includes art, theatre, music and design. Keeping this in mind, we adopted the co-operative education program, also known as ‘co-op’ where students acquire various skills through hands-on working/internships.
Our idea of a professional architect is one where the individual is equipped with a comprehensive set of skills spread across academics, techniques and design skills.
As an integral part of our program, we encourage students to approach design by working with their local communities and cultures to maintain a harmonious balance with our environment. We have a balanced learning program for our students by offering diverse elective subjects, summer & winter school programs, travel studios, workshops, summer internships and semester-long cooperative internships that allow students to intern in allied fields of architecture across the globe.
At Nitte Institute of Architecture, the work culture is characterized by a collaborative and supportive environment where faculty and staff are encouraged to innovate and excel in their fields. The institute values teamwork, creativity, and continuous learning, fostering a community that is passionate about architecture and education.
Nitte Institute of Architecture offers a comprehensive range of benefits to its employees, designed to support their professional and personal well-being.
