Sagami Women's University, located in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, experiences a humid subtropical climate with four distinct seasons. Spring (March to May) is mild with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C. Summer (June to August) is hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C and significant rainfall due to the tsuyu (rainy season). Autumn (September to November) sees cooler temperatures and less humidity, ideal for outdoor activities. Winter (December to February) is relatively mild, with temperatures rarely dropping below freezing, though occasional cold snaps can bring snow.
The climate impacts campus life by necessitating adjustments in commuting patterns, especially during the rainy season and typhoon season in late summer. Outdoor research activities are more feasible in spring and autumn.
