Academic Calendar and Important Dates for SBU

The academic year at Sistan & Balouchestan University (SBU) is divided into two semesters:

• Fall Semester: Starts in late September and ends in late January.
• Spring Semester: Begins in mid-February and concludes in late June.
• Exam Periods: Typically held in the last two weeks of each semester.
• Holidays: Include Nowruz (Persian New Year) in March and other national holidays.
• Faculty Application Deadlines: Vary by department, but generally occur in the spring for the following academic year.
• Sabbatical Dates: Faculty members can apply for sabbaticals, typically planned a year in advance.
