Weather and Climate at TUO

The Technical University of Opole experiences a continental climate with distinct seasons. Winters are cold with temperatures often dropping below 0°C (32°F), while summers can be warm, reaching up to 30°C (86°F).

• Winter: December to February, with average temperatures ranging from -5°C to 2°C (23°F to 36°F). Snowfall is common, which can affect commuting and campus life.
• Spring: March to May, temperatures gradually increase from 5°C to 20°C (41°F to 68°F). This season sees more rain, beneficial for outdoor research activities.
• Summer: June to August, warm with temperatures between 15°C and 30°C (59°F to 86°F). Ideal for outdoor campus events but can occasionally experience heatwaves.
• Autumn: September to November, temperatures decrease from 20°C to 5°C (68°F to 41°F). Rainfall increases, and the weather can be quite variable.

Extreme weather conditions like heavy snowstorms or heatwaves can impact both commuting and the conduct of outdoor research at TUO.
