Weather and Climate at Technion

Located in Haifa, Technion - Israel Institute of Technology experiences a Mediterranean climate characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters.

• Summer (June to September): Temperatures range from 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F) with very little rainfall.
• Winter (December to February): Temperatures range from 10°C to 18°C (50°F to 64°F) with most of the annual rainfall occurring during these months.
• Spring and Autumn: These seasons are transitional with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C (59°F to 77°F).
• Extreme Weather: Occasionally, the region experiences Sharav (hot, dry wind) which can increase temperatures significantly.

The weather at Technion affects commuting and campus life, with students and staff often adapting their schedules to avoid the hottest parts of the day during summer. Outdoor research activities are more feasible during the cooler months.
