Academic Calendar and Important Dates for UCSal

The academic year at Universidade Católica de Salvador (UCSal) is divided into two semesters:

• First Semester: Starts in February and ends in June.
• Second Semester: Starts in August and ends in December.
• Exam Periods: Typically held in June and December.
• Holidays: Include Carnival in February/March, Independence Day on September 7th, and Christmas/New Year's break in December/January.
• Faculty Application Deadlines: Vary by department, but generally occur in the months leading up to the start of each semester.
• Sabbatical Dates: Faculty members can apply for sabbaticals, which are typically scheduled outside of the main teaching periods.
