Weather and Climate at UDSM

The University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) experiences a tropical wet and dry climate. The city of Dar es Salaam, where the university is located, has two main seasons:

• Dry Season (June to September) - Temperatures range from 20°C to 30°C, with low humidity and minimal rainfall, making it ideal for outdoor activities and commuting.
• Wet Season (October to May) - Characterized by high humidity and heavy rainfall, with temperatures between 25°C to 32°C. This can impact commuting and outdoor research, requiring adjustments in schedules and activities.

Extreme weather conditions like heavy storms can occasionally disrupt campus life, but the university has measures in place to manage these situations.
