Weather and Climate at UM

The University of Montana experiences a continental climate with four distinct seasons. Winters are cold with temperatures often dropping below freezing, while summers are warm and pleasant.

• Spring: Temperatures begin to rise, ranging from 35°F to 60°F (2°C to 15°C), with occasional rain and snow.
• Summer: Warm with temperatures between 60°F and 85°F (15°C to 30°C), and occasional thunderstorms.
• Fall: Cooler with temperatures from 40°F to 65°F (4°C to 18°C), and increasing rainfall.
