Academic Calendar and Important Dates for UOR

The academic year at the University of Ruhuna is divided into two semesters:

• Second Semester: Starts in March and ends in July.

• Holidays: Major holidays include Sinhala and Tamil New Year in April and Christmas in December.
• Faculty Application Deadlines: Vary by faculty, typically around June for the next academic year.
• Sabbatical Dates: Sabbaticals are typically scheduled during the academic year, with applications due a year in advance.
