Weather and Climate at ZAFU

Zhejiang A&F University, located in Hangzhou, experiences a subtropical monsoon climate. The city has four distinct seasons:

• Spring (March to May): Mild and pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 10°C to 25°C. Rainfall increases towards the end of the season.
• Summer (June to August): Hot and humid, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C. This period sees significant rainfall, including the possibility of typhoons.
• Autumn (September to November): Cool and comfortable, with temperatures dropping from 25°C to 15°C. This season is ideal for outdoor activities.
• Winter (December to February): Cold but not severe, with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 10°C. Snowfall is rare but possible.

The weather can impact commuting due to heavy rainfall in summer, potentially affecting campus life and outdoor research activities. However, the mild climate during spring and autumn is conducive to outdoor academic and research endeavors at ZAFU.
