Offer Description
Adjunct (post-doc), full-time position, 40 hours per week, on-site, in a group of researchers at the Department of Chemistry and Metal Corrosion, within the project entitled: "3D-printed bone implants - exploring the relationship between the chemical and spatial structure of implants and their surface, mechanical, osteogenic and anticancer properties", project no. 2023/49/B/ST4/00077, funded under the OPUS-25 call.
Scope of duties (full-time, on-site post-doctoral position):
- Synthesis of metallic nanostructures (both bare and surface-functionalized),
- Optimization of materials intended for the fabrication of three-dimensional bone scaffold models,
- Design and fabrication (3D printing) of three-dimensional bone scaffold models,
- Preparation of samples for physicochemical and mechanical testing,
- Conducting mechanical testing of materials and synthetic bone scaffolds,
- Performing spectroscopic analyses of the surfaces of materials (bare and functionalized) and synthetic bone scaffolds,
- Evaluation of wear of materials (bare and functionalized) and synthetic bone scaffolds,
- Analysis and interpretation of research results,
- Preparation of scientific publications and project reports,
- Preparation of monthly reports on the progress of research and scientific activities.

Requirements:REQUIREMENTS:
- the candidate must hold a doctoral degree in one of the following disciplines: Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering, awarded no earlier than 7 years prior to the year of employment in the project (taking into account the career breaks specified in the definition of a post-doc position in the Regulations on Awarding Funding for Research Tasks Funded by the National Science Centre for research projects, post-doctoral fellowships, and doctoral scholarships, hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations").
- the candidate applying for the post-doctoral position must have obtained their doctoral degree from an institution other than the one where employment is planned, or must have completed at least a 10-month continuous and documented post-doctoral fellowship at an institution other than the host institution of the project and in a country different from the country where the doctoral degree was obtained.
- during the period of receiving this remuneration, the candidate shall not receive any other salary from funds allocated as direct costs in research projects financed under NCN calls.
- during the period of receiving this remuneration, the candidate shall not be employed by another employer under an employment contract, including employers based outside Poland; AGH University of Krakow shall constitute the candidate's sole place of employment.
- the candidate should demonstrate scientific achievements in Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering, documented by publications in international peer-reviewed journals, research stays, fellowships, awards, certificates, or participation in workshops/conferences/projects, etc.
- experience in laboratory work involving 3D printing, polymers, composites, molecular spectroscopy for surface analysis, or mechanical testing.
- experience in acquiring, managing, or implementing research projects will be considered an advantage.
- good command of Microsoft Office and data/spectra processing software packages.
- proficiency in English, both spoken and written, at a minimum level of B2.
- ability to conduct scientific research and work effectively in a research team, as well as a high level of personal integrity and professionalism in professional relationships.
