Our 10 Most Notable Oxford Alumni
Gifted men and women have studied or taught at Oxford University throughout its history. Oxford has had some of the world's brightest minds pass through their halls, all of whom have contributed to Oxford's reputation of academic excellence. Among them are 28 British Prime Ministers, at least 30 international leaders, 55 Nobel Prize winners, and 120 Olympic medal winners.
Here’s a short list we have put together for you, of our 10 most notable Oxonians.
1. Albert Einstein – Nobel Prize-winning Physicist – Christ Church College
In the 1930s, Einstein studied at Christ Church College for a short period of time before immigrating to the US. Awarded the title of ‘Person of the Century' by Time Magazine, Einstein’s ‘Theory of Relativity' revolutionized Physics as we study it now.
10. Malala Yousafzai - Pakistani Education Activist – Lady Margaret Hall
Malala Yousafzai, distinguished as the youngest recipient of the Nobel Prize, pursued her studies in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, beginning in 2017.
These were just a few names in the long list of famous individuals from Oxford who studied at this world-class university, however, it doesn’t stop here. The University of Oxford is one of the best universities to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses. Oxford is much more than academics- they inculcate several other skills (as demonstrated by the diversity in the professions of these alumni) and give them as much importance as academics. Oxford encourages a diverse range of interests and passions and makes it a point to turn these dreams into realities.
