QUT needs an Accreditations Manager who can keep the Faculty of Business and Law’s triple crown status intact while the sector keeps raising the bar on quality.
The role sits in Faculty Operations at Gardens Point with hybrid flexibility. Base salary runs from $116,774 to $132,357, and the total package reaches $138,193 to $156,633 once you add 17 percent superannuation and leave loading. It is ongoing and full time. Applications close 16 August 2026 at 11:30 pm.
You report to the Director of Operations and work directly with the Executive Dean, Associate Deans, Heads of School, course coordinators and the MBA Director. Your core job is to coordinate accreditation and quality assurance across business, property economics and law programs. That means maintaining AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA accreditation plus all relevant professional body approvals.
Triple crown status puts QUT Business School in a small global group. Fewer than 150 business schools worldwide hold all three at once. QUT earned it first in Australia back in 2005 and has kept it since. The accreditations cover strategic management, teaching quality, research impact, student outcomes and continuous improvement. Lose any one of them and international recognition, student recruitment and industry partnerships take a hit.
The person who lands this job will spend time collecting data, writing submissions, briefing academic leaders and liaising with external reviewers. Strong project coordination matters because deadlines are fixed and non-negotiable. You also need to turn complex requirements into clear actions that busy academics can actually follow.
Selection criteria ask for a degree plus substantial experience in accreditation or quality assurance inside higher education. You must show you understand the frameworks, can handle complex documentation, write high-quality reports and build relationships across faculties and with external bodies. Equity, diversity and Indigenous engagement experience counts too.
Most applications fail because candidates list duties instead of results. The panel wants concrete examples of how you managed an accreditation cycle, fixed a gap before a review, or turned raw data into a submission that passed first time.
Here is how to give yourself the best shot.
- Download the full position description from the QUT site and map every one of your achievements against the seven criteria before you write a single sentence.
- Prepare three short, specific stories that show you coordinated people, met immovable deadlines and improved a process.
- Keep your cover letter to one page. Lead with the outcome you delivered, not the title you held.
- Ask a colleague who has sat on selection panels to read your draft and cut anything that does not prove you can do the job from day one.
Generic applications get filed. Tailored ones that speak the language of accreditation get interviews.
QUT offers the usual university benefits plus a few extras worth noting. Primary carer parental leave reaches 26 weeks. You can buy up to eight extra weeks of leave. Fitness Passport and salary packaging are available. Professional development money and study assistance exist if you want to keep sharpening your own edge.
Brisbane’s Gardens Point campus sits in the CBD with good transport links. Hybrid arrangements mean you are not tied to campus every day once you prove you deliver.
Strong candidates move fast on roles like this. The pool shrinks the longer a search runs because people with the right accreditation experience already have options. If the work of protecting quality standards in a triple-crown faculty appeals to you, treat the 16 August deadline as real.
One practical step this week: open the position description, print the selection criteria and spend ninety minutes writing one tight example for each. That single block of focused work will separate your application from the rest.
