Salary description – Academic Level A ($78,499 to $101,512) +17% super + excellent benefits
The Opportunity
Working as an Associate Lecturer, this role will see you significantly contribute to the Australian Maritime College. You will co-ordinate and/or conduct lectures, tutorials, practical classes, workshops, and field excursions in both on-campus and online environments, including development of resources suitable for both face-to-face and online delivery. Ensuring students are ready for varied career options and direct pathways into the workforce, you will foster productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and wider community. You will make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving our strategic objectives and fulfilling our operational responsibilities.
What’s Required
- An Australian-issued Master less than 45m near coastal Certificate of Competency or higher, with relevant seagoing industry experience.
- An Australian-issued Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 near coastal Certificate of Competency or higher, with relevant seagoing industry experience.
- A demonstrated ability to prepare and conduct training using a range of innovative and flexible delivery and assessment methods, and to prepare and conduct curriculum, teaching and training, practical classes, field excursions and assess student achievement.
- Demonstrated high level written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience in vocational training and assessment and hold TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a team environment.
