Aarti Singh is an Associate Professor in Economics at the University of Sydney's School of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. She earned her PhD in Economics from Washington University in St. Louis and joined the University of Sydney in 2008. In her current roles, she serves as Deputy Head of School (Research), Deputy Director of the Contemporary Inequalities Centre—a flagship centre of the faculty—Program Director of the CAMA Macroeconomic Theory Program, and Executive Member of the Australasian Macroeconomics Society. Singh has also held visiting positions at prestigious institutions, including the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis on multiple occasions, the Bank of Finland, University of Texas at Austin, Keio University, University of York, Cornell University, and Oxford University. She contributes to the academic community as Associate Editor for the Journal of Money, Credit and Banking since 2022 and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control since 2018.
Her research focuses on macroeconomics, monetary economics, macro-labour, public finance, consumption, saving, retirement, and inequality, utilizing both empirical and quantitative approaches to examine monetary and fiscal policies. Her scholarship has garnered over 500 citations on Google Scholar, influencing discussions on policy transmission, labor market responses, and economic stability.
