Aziz has published extensively in leading journals such as New Media & Society, Media, Culture & Society, International Journal of Communication, and Asiascape: Digital Asia. Notable works include "Rohingya diaspora online: mapping the spaces of visibility, resistance and transnational identity on social media" (New Media & Society, 2023), which received the Transformative Research Award in 2023; "Power geometries of mediated care: (re)mapping transnational families and immobility of the Rohingya diaspora in a digital age" (Media, Culture & Society, 2022); "Affective networked space: polymedia affordances and transnational digital communication among the Rohingya diaspora" (International Journal of Communication, 2022); "Digital Access, Resources, and Literacy: mapping the digital divide and ICT learning challenges among undergraduate students in Bangladesh" (Asiascape: Digital Asia, 2024, with M.T. Hossain); and "The unjust burden of digital inclusion for low-income migrant parents" (Policy & Internet, 2024, with T. Notley). He has also contributed a book chapter, "Food on display: connecting home(land) and identity negotiation of the Rohingya refugees in Brisbane City" (Springer, 2025). Among his accolades are the Future Leaders Fellowship (2025), HASS Grant (2025), Best Poster Award (2022), and Best Presenter Award (2025).
