A. F. M. Abdul Moyeen is a Professor of Management at the University of Dhaka, Faculty of Business Studies, where he taught for 23 years from 1989 to 2022 in positions ranging from Lecturer to Associate Professor and Professor. He served as Professor of Management at the University of Dhaka from 2005 to 2011 and from January 2021 to January 2022. His academic career also includes serving as Vice Chancellor of Comilla University from January 2022 to August 2024. He holds a PhD in strategic management from the University of Stirling, United Kingdom, in 1998, awarded under the Commonwealth Scholarship program, followed by a post-doctoral fellowship at the Australian National University. Additional qualifications comprise a Graduate Certificate in Tertiary Teaching and Learning from RMIT University in 2010, a Master of Commerce from the University of Dhaka in 1985, and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours from the University of Dhaka in 1984. Internationally, he held positions as Senior Lecturer at Federation University Australia from 2015 to 2020, Lecturer at Federation University Australia from 2008 to 2015, and Lecturer at RMIT University from 2007 to 2008. Earlier professional roles include Technical Advisor, Consultant, and Deputy Manager at KATALYST and SWISSCONTACT from October 2002 to March 2006.
Professor Moyeen's research specializations focus on Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainable Development Goals, and Entrepreneurship. He has co-edited one research-based book and authored 37 articles published in national and international journals, research books, and conference proceedings. Notable publications include 'Convergence of business, innovation, and sustainability at the tipping point of the sustainable development goals' (2023), 'Corporate social responsibility in regional small and medium-sized enterprises in Australia' (2012), 'Promoting CSR to foster sustainable development: Attitudes and perceptions of managers in a developing country' (2014), 'Human resource management practices in business enterprises in Bangladesh' (2001), 'A content analysis of CSR research in hotel industry, 2006–2017' (2018), and 'CSR management strategies, stakeholder engagement and MNE subsidiaries efforts to foster sustainable development' (2017). He is a key member of the Social Responsibility Research Network.
