Professor Dr. Abdur Rahim Mollah served as a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). He held the prestigious positions of Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. University records list him as a PhD holder, with service extending up to July 1, 2021. As a Senior Life Member of the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES), he contributed to professional engineering communities.
Throughout his career, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahim Mollah was actively involved in numerous academic and departmental events at AUST. He provided expert opinions on Outcome Based Education following a seminar on Introduction to Outcome Based Education. In 2015, he participated in an IEEE AIUB Student Branch seminar on Power Transformers Technology and Practice. He attended the 20th anniversary celebration of the AUST Department of Textile Engineering in 2019, where he spoke on the contributions of textile education. He served as Co-Chair for the Sustain Garment 2019 (ICSG2i 2019) conference organized by AUST. Additionally, he was involved in the selection of the Surveillance and Rescue BOT project under his supervision. He took part in CSE Week Spring 2019 and an open session on the rescue of a child. Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahim Mollah passed away on November 18, 2021. In his honor, the Department of EEE at AUST launched the Prof. Dr. Abdur Rahim Mollah Memorial Lecture Series, with editions covering topics such as Application of Industrial Automation and Industrial Digitalization, Blackmail 2.0 - Online Extortion in the Age of Social Media, and others held in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
