Aditya Vijaykumar is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics (CITA) at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on gravitational-wave physics and astrophysics, including compact objects and their progenitors as well as astrostatistics. He completed his PhD in Physics at the International Centre for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS-TIFR) in the Astrophysical Relativity group. His doctoral thesis, titled Probing gravity, astrophysics, and cosmology with gravitational waves, received the 2024 Justice Oak Award for Outstanding Thesis in Astronomy from the Astronomical Society of India and the 2024 V. V. Narlikar Best Thesis Award from the Indian Association for General Relativity and Gravitation. During his PhD, he spent approximately eight months as a Fulbright-Nehru Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Chicago. He earned his undergraduate degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani, with majors in Physics and Mechanical Engineering.
