Rate My Professor Aidan Ricciardo

Ricciardo's research focuses on health and medical law, with particular emphasis on children and young people's bodily autonomy in areas such as gender-affirming healthcare and voluntary assisted dying; evidence law; legal education pedagogy; and LGBTQI+ diversity and inclusion in law. He is Editor in Chief of the Western Australian Law Teachers' Review, an Editorial Board Member of the Legal Education Review, and maintains a blog on Evidence Law in Western Australia. His contributions extend to ethics committees, including the Human Research Ethics Committee at Perth Children's Hospital and the WA Department of Health Central Human Research Ethics Committee, as well as submissions to government inquiries and invited presentations to judicial audiences. Ricciardo's teaching excellence is recognized by multiple awards: Australian Awards for University Teaching Citation (2022) for making legal studies accessible and inclusive; Australian Legal Education Award for Excellence in Teaching (2021); UWA Award for Excellence and Innovation in Learning and Teaching (2024); UWA and Law School Excellence in Teaching Awards (Early Career, 2022); and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
