About Aijun

Aijun Xu is a Professor of Computer Science and Technology and Vice President at Zhejiang A&F University, affiliated with the College of Mathematics and Computer Science. Holding a PhD, he serves as a doctoral supervisor, head of the national first-class undergraduate major in Computer Science and Technology, and director of the Key Laboratory of Forestry Perception Technology and Intelligent Equipment under the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. Xu's academic career at the university spans over two decades, starting as a Teaching Assistant in the College of Information Engineering in July 2002. He progressed to Lecturer in September 2004, Associate Professor in November 2008, and Professor in May 2011. He held successive leadership roles, including Vice Dean from November 2011 to May 2014, Executive Vice Dean from May 2014 to June 2016, Dean of the College of Information Engineering from June 2016 to July 2019, Dean of Jiuyang College from July to October 2019, and Vice President since October 2019.

His research specializes in applications of forestry information technology and resource and environmental information systems, with contributions to smartphone-based tree measurements, camera calibration for mobile terminals, and vision systems for environmental monitoring. Xu has earned major awards such as the Third Prize of the Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award (2018) for smart animal husbandry key technologies, Second Prize of the Hubei Science and Technology Progress Award (2018), Second Prize of the Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award (2016) for forest fire early warning, Third Prize of the Zhejiang Science and Technology Award (2014), and Second Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award from the Ministry of Education (2010).
