Akira Yoko is an Associate Professor at the Advanced Institute for Materials Research (AIMR) at Tohoku University. He belongs to the Soft Materials Group and is affiliated with the T. Adschiri Laboratory. His research interests include supercritical hydrothermal synthesis, nucleation and growth of nanoparticles, organic modified metal oxide nanoparticles and nanofluid applications, physical and chemical properties of nanoparticles driven by distortion, and synchrotron radiation study of metal oxide nanoparticles.
