About Alan

Professor Alan M Jones is the Emeritus Professor and Vice-Principal (External Affairs) at ICON College of Technology and Management. He holds advanced academic qualifications including a PhD, MSc, BEd, and CertEd, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI) as well as a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA). These credentials underscore his extensive expertise in management education and leadership development.

Professor Jones has a distinguished career spanning several prominent institutions. He served as Professor of Management and Head of the Department of Leadership and Management at the University of Chester, later advancing to Dean of the School of Life-long and Work-based Learning, where he was awarded the title of Emeritus Professor upon leaving. Previously, he was Director of Company Programmes and Associate Director of Doctoral Programmes at Henley Management College. He also held the position of Dean and Professor of Management in the Faculty of Business and Law at the American Intercontinental University London campus. These leadership roles highlight his profound impact on management studies, professional training, and academic administration.

At ICON College, home to the Department of Business and Management Studies, Professor Jones teaches on the BSc (Hons) Business and Management (3-year programme) and the BSc (Hons) Business Management (4-year programme with Integrated Foundation Year). As Vice-Principal (External Affairs), he contributes to external partnerships, quality assurance, and institutional development, as documented in college handbooks, newsletters, and accounts from 2019 onwards.
