Rate My Professor Albert Bach

Dr. Albert Bach is an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice and Director of Clinical Examinations and Simulations at Chapman University School of Pharmacy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from California State University, Fullerton (2008), a Doctor of Pharmacy from Western University of Health Sciences (2012), and completed a PGY-1 Residency in Community Pharmacy Practice at the University of Southern California (2013). Bach began his academic career as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at USC School of Pharmacy during his residency. Following a role as Clinical Pharmacist at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center (2013-2014), where he managed medication reconciliation, he joined Chapman University in 2014 as Assistant Professor, advancing to Associate Professor in 2022. He serves as Faculty-in-Residence at Providence Medical Foundation St. Joseph’s Medical Group and PrescribeWellness Center, and practices per diem as a pharmacist at Newport Coast Pharmacy & Compounding Center, providing immunization, travel health, and medication therapy management services.

Bach’s research specializes in implementation sciences within community pharmacy and ambulatory care settings, emphasizing outcomes from pharmacist services, immunizations, self-care therapeutics, travel medicine, and chronic disease management. Notable publications include “The Role of Community-Pharmacy Based Vaccination in the USA: Current Practice and Future Directions” (Integrated Pharmacy Research and Practice, 2015), “Using Community Pharmacy Immunization Screening Forms to Identify Potential Immunization Opportunities” (Pharmacy, 2019), “Addressing Common Barriers in Adult Immunizations: A Review of Interventions” (Expert Review of Vaccines, 2019), and “Community Pharmacists Roles During the COVID-19 Pandemic” (Journal of Pharmacy Practice, 2020). He co-edited Patient Assessment in Pharmacy (McGraw Hill, 2025) and authored chapters on sexually transmitted diseases, fungal skin infections, and insomnia in various handbooks. Bach received the APhA-APPM Presentation Merit Award in 2020 for his poster presentation. At Chapman, he coordinates and teaches courses in non-sterile compounding, self-care, travel medicine, and ambulatory care rotations.
