Alice Rosenthal serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Law, Assistant Dean of Experiential Education, and Director of Externships in the Law faculty at Quinnipiac University School of Law. Her primary responsibilities include overseeing the externship program, where her clinical teaching equips students with practical skills through immersive legal experiences. Drawing from her deep commitment to social justice lawyering, Rosenthal ensures that Quinnipiac law students have access to a broad array of experiential opportunities that reflect real-world legal advocacy.
Rosenthal earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School–Newark. She is admitted to practice law in both Connecticut and New York. Before joining Quinnipiac University, she held the position of Senior Staff Attorney at the Center for Children's Advocacy. In that role, she led the Medical-Legal Partnership Project at Yale New Haven Health, advocating for children and families on matters concerning their health and well-being. These issues encompassed housing instability, public benefits, access to healthcare, disability rights, and education law. Additionally, she spearheaded extensive educational initiatives for learners at Yale School of Medicine and Yale Law School, providing both classroom instruction and hands-on experiential learning opportunities. Rosenthal also served as an Adjunct Professor at the Yale School of Medicine. Prior to returning to Connecticut, Rosenthal gained valuable experience in New York City, working at Advocates for Children of New York, the Center for Court Innovation, and Good Shepherd Services of New York. Throughout her career, her primary legal expertise has been focused on children and families at the local, state, and national levels. She has co-authored several articles detailing her work in these areas.
