Great Professor!
Dr Amanda Kasper is the Academic Lead for General Practice (GP) in Bundaberg at the University of Queensland Medical School. In this capacity, she contributes to the General Practice course (MEDI7313), a postgraduate unit that offers students the opportunity to explore the community context of medicine through placements in general practice settings. The course is coordinated by the UQ Medical School and delivered in an in-person mode primarily at the Herston campus.
Dr Kasper is actively involved in regional medical education in Queensland's Wide Bay-Burnett area, particularly in Bundaberg. She has been identified as a key figure in GP training programs, including those associated with James Cook University, where she serves as a medical educator supporting the training and mentoring of general practice registrars and junior doctors. Her efforts focus on addressing the need for healthcare professionals committed to rural and regional practice.
