Amanda Stevenson-Holmes serves as Chair of the Communication and Leadership Department and Instructor of Strategic Communication at Butler University’s College of Communication. With more than 20 years of experience in marketing communications, public relations, media consulting, and communications strategy, she brings extensive professional expertise to her academic role. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Franklin College earned in 1999 and a Master’s degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University obtained in 2003. She is also a graduate of Leadership Johnson County’s Signature Class of 2019. Previously, Stevenson-Holmes served as a Business Faculty member at Harrison College. As president and owner of Amanda Stevenson-Holmes LLC since 2019, and through her work with Communications Redefined, she advises clients across sectors including healthcare, technology, accounting, insurance and retirement services, non-profits, government, legal, food service, travel, and tourism. Her professional focus involves crafting integrated B2B and B2C communication strategies that boost brand awareness, lead generation, customer retention, and employee engagement via multi-channel approaches encompassing content creation, events, print and digital media, social platforms, and web tools.
At Butler University, where she has been a lecturer since 2019, Stevenson-Holmes teaches courses in strategic communication, such as special topics classes, and acts as faculty advisor for the student-led strategic communication agency Five Fountains. She also handles departmental responsibilities like study abroad approvals and is recognized as a university expert in communication, marketing, and strategic communication. Her contributions extend to mentoring students with real-life industry scenarios, fostering practical skills for careers in public relations and strategic communications. Professionally, she has earned multiple awards from the Hoosier Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, the EPIC Award from the International Association of Business Communicators for outstanding employee/member communication planning, and has been a three-time nominee for the OneAmerica ASPIRE Award.
