Amber Hannah serves as Specialist Technologist at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is part of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, Health Sciences, and works at the Hercus Taieri Resource Unit within the Biomedical Research Facility in the Eccles Building. Her responsibilities include technical support for biomedical research, encompassing cryopreservation, embryology techniques, and cryogenics laboratory work. Amber Hannah has been acknowledged for her contributions to research projects at the university. She assisted with blood sampling in a 2019 study on aniracetam effects on working memory in neurologically healthy pigeons published in the Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior. She is also associated with the 2018 publication on breeding characteristics and dose-dependent blood pressure responses of transgenic Cyp1a1-Ren2 rats in Comparative Medicine, affiliated with the Hercus-Taieri Resource Unit. Additionally, she has participated in university photo competitions, securing second place in 2016 with a photo of Bertie the goat at Lake Rotoiti, winning in 2021 with an image taken near the top of a 200m mountain climb, and joint runner-up in 2022 with a sunrise photo. Her photographs featured in digital calendars for October 2021, January 2022, and November 2022.
