Dr Amit Banerjee is an Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer in the Curtin Medical School, Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University. As part of the Office of the Dean in Curtin Medical School, Dr Banerjee contributes to medical education in a clinical capacity.
Dr Banerjee is a qualified medical professional holding MBBS, FRANZCP, and a Master of Addictive Behaviours. He practices as a recovery-oriented general adult psychiatrist, with interests in social and critical psychiatry and the addictions field. Beyond academia, he serves as Consultant Psychiatrist at Headspace Youth Early Psychosis Program in Greater Perth Area. He has been involved in mental health governance as a sessional member of the Mental Health Commission of Western Australia for periods including 2017-2018 and 2019-2020, and as a Board Director for ISPS Australia. He is also listed in the Australian Indian Medical Association of WA under Psychiatry.
