About Amit

Dr. Amit Mehrotra is a Professor at the National Judicial Academy (NJA), Bhopal, specializing in judicial education and training. He earned his bachelor's degrees in Commerce and Law, followed by a postgraduate degree in Law (LLM) from Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and a Doctorate in Law (PhD) from the University of Lucknow. As a dedicated faculty member, Dr. Mehrotra has progressed from Assistant Professor to his current position as Professor at NJA, where he contributes significantly to the professional development of judges and judicial officers across India.

Throughout his tenure at NJA, Dr. Mehrotra has served as academic coordinator for numerous training programs and workshops. These include P-1493 in March 2026 co-coordinated with Mr. Rajesh Suman, P-1498 in April 2026 with Ms. Nitika Jain, the workshop for High Court Justices on Court Dockets (P-1456) in May 2025, Special Training Programme for Civil Judges (SE-03) in July 2025, National Conference on Criminal Law (SE-22) in November 2025, and P-1479 on IP Infringement and Enforcement in January 2026. Earlier programs under his coordination feature P-1065 in December 2017 with Mr. Shivaraj S. Huchhanavar, P-1350 and P-1354 in August 2023, and various workshops listed in NJA newsletters from 2021 such as P-1257 and national workshops for High Court Justices. He has also been a resource person and faculty in programs like SE-13 in November 2025. Additionally, Dr. Mehrotra serves on the editorial board of the Advalorem Journal of Law and has acted as a judge for the 3rd NMIMS Indore Moot Court Competition. His extensive involvement highlights his impact on judicial training and legal education in India.
