Dr Andrew Curtin is a Lecturer at the TC Beirne School of Law, University of Queensland. He is an affiliate of the Centre for Public, International and Comparative Law. Dr Curtin obtained his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland, followed by a Bachelor (Honours) of Law from the same institution. He continued his studies with a Masters (Coursework) of Law at the University of Queensland. In addition, he holds a Doctor of Philosophy of History and Philosophy of Law and Justice from the University of Queensland. His doctoral thesis, titled Understanding Law as a MacIntyrean 'Practice', was supervised by Professor Nick Aroney as principal advisor and Dr Rob Mullins as associate advisor. Dr Curtin presented his research at HDR milestone presentations and seminars, including sessions in 2018 and 2021 on the topic of understanding law as a MacIntyrean practice.
In his academic role, Dr Curtin coordinates the course Civil Dispute Resolution (LAWS4701), which covers procedures of conducting civil litigation and skills required for legal practice. He serves as course contact with telephone +61 7 3365 6611. Dr Curtin also acts as a lecturer and tutor in other courses, including LAWS2702 and LAWS4700.
