Angela Brandenburg

Angela Brandenburg serves as Senior Lecturer in Medical Education and Academic Lead for Medical Student Selection (Admissions) within the Academy for Medical Education at the University of Queensland Medical School, part of the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Behavioural Sciences. In this capacity, she oversees the admissions process for the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, ensuring rigorous selection of candidates. She also acts as Academic Lead for Years 1 and 2, supporting students in Phase 1 of the MD program, particularly those experiencing academic difficulties, with dedicated support channels like med.acsupport1@uq.edu.au. Her involvement extends to key student onboarding activities, including presenting at MD Year 1 and Year 2 Orientation programs in 2022, Getting Started webinars for 2025 and 2026 cohorts, and chairing sessions such as the Biomedical Sciences and Bioinformatics symposium for MEDI7281 in 2020.

Brandenburg holds a Master of Public Health (coursework) from the University of Queensland and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education. She is available for higher degree research supervision. Her scholarly output includes 8 works catalogued in UQ eSpace: 5 journal articles, 1 book, 1 conference publication, and 1 other output. Notable among these is her contribution to the Proceedings of the Australian & New Zealand Association for Health Professional Educators (ANZAHPE) in 2018, co-authoring on collaboration between professional programs and the effectiveness of CV selection tools in improving performance metrics for university students.
