Angela Miller is a Senior Professional Practice Fellow (Senior Lecturer) in the University of Otago College of Education. She holds the qualifications PGDipSci, BEd, BCApSc (Otago), and DipTchg. Before joining academia, Miller trained as a primary teacher and gained experience teaching in both primary and secondary classrooms, spending most of her career as a specialist Year 7 and 8 food and soft materials technology teacher. In 2002, she was appointed to a part-time position in technology at the Dunedin College of Education. She maintains a strong interest in how technology education is taught in schools and in supporting pre-service teachers' understandings of the technology curriculum.
Currently, Angela Miller serves as Acting Associate Dean Initial Teacher Education for Semester 2, 2025. Her teaching areas include Technology Education at primary and secondary levels and Health Education focusing on Food and Nutrition at primary and secondary levels. Her research interests are teaching and learning in Technology Education and community nutrition.
