Angelique Zamora joined the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work at the University of Queensland in 2015. She obtained her nursing qualifications in both the Philippines and Australia and is an AHPRA Registered Nurse. Zamora holds a Bachelor of Nursing and a Bachelor of Nursing (Honours), both from the University of Queensland, and is a member of the Australian College of Nursing. Her clinical experience includes gerontological nursing, general medical and surgical care, community health, maternal and child health, intensive care, and intraoperative nursing. She has several years of experience in clinical teaching in nursing both in Australia and overseas. Currently, she is undertaking PhD studies on the oral health of older people living in residential aged care facilities with the UQ School of Dentistry.
Zamora’s research interests encompass nursing education, interprofessional care, co-design, gerontology, dementia care, and older people’s oral health. Key publications include the journal article “Modified Oral Health Assessment Tool (M-OHAT) for residential aged care: A co-design protocol” (2024), “Exercise improves the health and well-being of people with dementia” (2020), and conference papers such as “A scoping review of oral health care training for staff members working in residential aged care facilities” (2024), “Multi-disciplinary clinical collaboration in modifying the Oral Health Assessment Tool” (2025), “Co-designing M-OHAT: Modified Oral Health Assessment Tool for Age Care” (2025), “Dignity and Dementia: a Discourse Analysis of Spouse Carers” (2015), “The Watermemories Swimming Club” (2013 and 2014). She received the 2020 Elsevier Emerging Leader in Nursing and Midwifery Education High Commendation Award and the SNMSW 2016 Innovation in Teaching and Learning Award.
