About Anja

Prof. Dr. Anja Karlshaus is the President of CBS International Business School in Cologne, Germany, and Professor of Business Operations & Human Resource Management. She studied business administration at the University of Cologne, Santa Clara University in the USA, and the European Business School (EBS), where she earned her doctorate on the topic of strategic personnel management. Her professional career commenced in 1999 in strategic personnel management at Dresdner Bank, followed by roles at the Allianz Group from 2001 and Commerzbank from 2008. In February 2009, she joined Cologne Business School—now CBS International Business School—as Professor of General Business Administration and Personnel Management. From 2014, she headed the Department for Personnel and Corporate Management. Between 2018 and June 2023, she served as Dean of General Management, assuming the presidency in 2022. Her leadership has advanced the institution's focus on practical business education and research in Business & Economics.
