Anjala Krishen is Interim Dean of the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), where she holds the Mel Larson Endowed Chair of Marketing and serves as Professor and former Chair of the Department of Marketing and International Business. A distinguished scholar in Business & Economics, she earned her Ph.D. in Marketing from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 2007, along with an M.S. and MBA in Marketing from the same institution in 2004 and 1996, respectively. She also holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rice University (1990). Before entering academia, Krishen amassed extensive industry experience, including roles as Manager of Production & Corporate Systems at Datapult & Enerwise Global Technologies (2001-2003), Director of Production Systems at Installation Included (2000-2001), and Engineer at Lincoln Electric Company (1992-1993).
Krishen joined UNLV in 2007 as an Assistant Professor of Marketing, progressing to Associate Professor in 2013 and Full Professor in 2019. Her leadership roles include Director of MBA Programs (2020-2022), Special Advisor to the Dean for Research (2018-2019), and Associate Dean of Executive Education & Corporate Engagement (2025-present). Her research specializes in decision making and information processing, advertising and retailing, and interactive, digital, and e-marketing. She has authored or co-authored numerous publications in premier journals, such as "Creativity ambidexterity and sustainable business" in Technological Forecasting & Social Change (2025), "Consumer Knowledge and Sustainable Decision-Making" (2025), "Exploring AI technology and consumer behavior" in Journal of Consumer Behaviour (2024), and "Affective commitment recipes for wine clubs" in Journal of Business Research (2023). Krishen’s scholarly impact is recognized through editorial positions as Associate Editor for the Journal of Marketing Education (2022-present), Journal of Marketing Analytics (2017-present), and Journal of Business Research (2016-present). Among her many honors are the UNLV Barrick Distinguished Scholar Award (2025 and 2016), UNLV Foundation Distinguished Teaching Award (2015), Outstanding Faculty Honoree by the UNLV Alumni Association (2019), and Fellow of the Direct Selling Education Foundation (2019).
