Dr. Ankur Dumka serves as Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Dean of Academics and Research at Women Institute of Technology, Dehradun. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, M.Tech from the same institution with 72.5% marks, and B.Tech from Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, with 74.77% marks. With more than 14 years of teaching and industrial experience, his previous roles include Adjunct Faculty at Graphic Era Deemed to be University (2022-2023), Associate Professor there (2018-2020), Assistant Professor and Proctor at University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (2013-2018), Assistant Professor at Gurukul Kangri University (2008-2010), and positions at HCL Technologies, JAVI Systems, and N R Serv. Dr. Dumka has guided two Ph.D. scholars—Gaurav Agrawal and Prem Sagar Sharma, both completing in 2023—and two M.Tech students at Graphic Era University. His teaching subjects include computer networks, machine learning, and deep learning.
Dr. Dumka's research focuses on networking, IoT technology, big data applications, and programming. He has authored seven books, such as Innovation in SDN and NFV Technology (IGI Global, 2018), A Complete Guide to Wireless Sensor Networks from Inception to Current Trends (Taylor and Francis, 2019), Advances in Digital Image Processing and Its Applications in Big Data (Taylor and Francis, 2020), Covid-19: Origin, Detection and Impact Analysis Using Artificial Intelligence Computational Techniques (CRC Press, 2021), and Computer Fundamentals for Nursing, Paramedical and Medical Students (Pearson, 2023). He contributed 15 book chapters and serves as editor for journals including Academic Social Research (2022-2024) and special issues in Cluster Computing (Springer) and International Journal of Information Technology Project Management (IGI Global). Dr. Dumka organized workshops on ICT, AI in education, IPR, and robotics, and chairs sessions at international conferences. As Principal Investigator, he leads a UCOST-funded project worth INR 10,04,150 on IoT-enabled mosquito monitoring in Uttarakhand (sanctioned 2022). His honors include Guru Shiromani Award 2022-23, Nation Builder Award 2023 from Rotary Club Doon Shivalik Hills, Mei Bhi Kalam Mentorship Award 2023, Research of the Year 2021, and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Lifetime Achievement National Award 2022.
