Anthony Porcelli, EdD, is the Senior Assistant Dean for Operations and Strategy and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Population Health in the Hofstra Northwell School of Nursing and Physician Assistant Studies at Hofstra University. He earned his Doctor of Education from Hofstra University in 2021. His dissertation, 'First in College, First in Hope: Can Hope, Agency, and Pathways Increase in First-Generation College Students Participating in a University’s Intervention Strategy,' compared hope, agency, and pathways scores of first-generation college students to their continuing-generation peers at a mid-sized, suburban, private research university, exploring the impact of university intervention strategies on student success.
With over ten years at Hofstra University, Porcelli previously served as Assistant Dean of Communication, Advancement, and Engagement in the School of Health Professions and Human Services. He has played a key role in first-generation student support efforts, helping secure Hofstra's recognition as a First Forward Institution. Porcelli contributes to university senate committees on operations and strategies and leads initiatives such as nursing open houses, healthcare shadow days at Baldwin High School, and recruitment events. His administrative work supports graduate nursing programs, including faculty handbooks and position postings for roles like course coordinators and assessment analysts. Recognized for his service, he received the Peter J. Libman Spirit of Hofstra Award and honors for ten years of dedicated employment. Porcelli's focus on project management, educational program development, and student advocacy underscores his impact in higher education administration within nursing and health professions.
