António Marinho Torres serves as Associate Professor in the Marketing Teaching Track at Nova School of Business and Economics, part of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. His academic credentials include a PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Marketing from Manchester Business School in 2014, an MBA from INSEAD in 1996, a Leadership Development Program from Harvard Business School in 2002, and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo in 1990. These qualifications underpin his expertise in the Business & Economics faculty, where his research interests focus on Marketing, Digital Marketing, Product Line Length, and Consumer Goods. At Nova SBE, he has held positions including Assistant Professor (Adjunct) from 2014 to 2023 and Professor Associado since March 2023. He also serves as Academic Director for the Bachelor's in Management program.
Marinho Torres brings over 25 years of international professional experience as a marketing and general management executive. He developed his career in leading consumer goods companies such as Unilever and Mondelez, and technology firms including Nokia and Vistaprint. Having lived and worked in seven countries, he managed operations as General Manager in five markets and conducted business across ten countries. He has headed global initiatives for the market expansion of new technologies. Presently, he acts as a consultant in marketing and business development, serves as Chief Marketing Officer and board advisor for technology startups, and invests in emerging ventures. In his teaching role at Nova SBE, he delivers courses on Marketing, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, emphasizing practical applications in dynamic business environments. His contributions extend to articles such as 'Should you stop advertising during the pandemic?' and 'Do you have a social media strategy? It is probably wrong,' published in the Nova SBE Business Room blog.
