Dr. Anulipt Chandan is a Lecturer in the Sustainable Engineering Group within the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University, Perth, Australia. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Sustainable Engineering from Curtin University, awarded following research conducted from 2018 to 2023. His doctoral thesis, "A Blockchain Interoperability Framework to Streamline Information Sharing for Achieving Sustainability Outcomes," was supervised by A/Professor Vidyasagar Potdar and Michele Rosano. As a Higher Degree by Research scholarship holder with the Food Agility CRC, Chandan investigated blockchain interoperability to improve information sharing and sustainability in food supply chains. During his PhD, he was associated with the Blockchain Research and Development Laboratory in Curtin Business School, specializing in blockchain's role in supply chain management.
Chandan's research specializations encompass sustainability, renewable energy, blockchain technology, smart grids, and smart cities. His publications address key challenges in supply chain sustainability and energy management. Prominent works include "Achieving UN SDGs in Food Supply Chain Using Blockchain Technology" published in Sustainability (2023, 265 citations), "Blockchain Technology for Supply Chain Traceability, Transparency and Data Provenance" (Proceedings of the 2018 International Conference on Blockchain Technology, 105 citations), "Big Energy Data Management for Smart Grids—Issues, Challenges and Recent Developments" (Smart Cities: Development and Governance Frameworks, 2018, 39 citations), "How Blockchain Can Help in Supply Chain Sustainability" (2019, 19 citations), "Systematic Literature Review of Blockchain Technology’s Technical Challenges: A Tertiary Study" (Information, 2024, 8 citations), "Enhancing Sustainability in Food Supply Chain: A Blockchain-Based Sustainability Information Management and Reporting System" (2025), "Sustainability Indicators in Rice and Wheat Supply Chain" (2025), "Life Cycle Analysis to Estimate Environmental Impact of the Food Industry" (2021), and "Pricing Mechanisms for Energy Management in Smart Cities" (2018). Accumulating 398 citations, his contributions advance traceability, transparency, and alignment with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in agri-food systems.
In his teaching role, Dr. Chandan delivers courses such as Introduction to Sustainability and Renewable Energy Systems (ELEN1002). His interdisciplinary work bridges engineering and information systems to promote sustainable practices.
