Ms Ashton Margarete Moseley is a Lecturer in the Department of Industrial Design at the University of Johannesburg, where she also serves as BA Honours and Masters Programme Coordinator and manages the Industrial Design Ceramics Centre. Her academic qualifications include an MA in Design (Cum Laude) from the University of Johannesburg in 2019, an Advanced Diploma in Project Management (With Distinction) from the University of Cape Town in 2016, a BTech in Industrial Design (Cum Laude) from the University of Johannesburg in 2015, and an NDip in Three-Dimensional Design from the University of Johannesburg in 2013.
Her research specializations center on medical device design, particularly developing appropriate process models for paediatric applications in the South African context, and on gender representation and inequality in design industries. She has co-authored multiple conference papers on these topics, including works presented at DEFSA conferences, the International Conference on Appropriate Technology, and other international events between 2019 and 2023. Moseley has supervised numerous BA Honours and Masters projects in medical device design.
