Aslihan G. Korkmaz is an Associate Professor of Finance in the Barowsky School of Business at Dominican University of California. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) in Finance from Cleveland State University, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Izmir University of Economics, and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Dokuz Eylul University. In her teaching role, she covers key areas such as Corporate Finance, Investment Principles, Financial Markets and Institutions, and Managerial Finance. Located in Bertrand Hall, Room 24A, she contributes to the university's business programs, including the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science in Accounting (MSA).
Korkmaz's research focuses on Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Earnings Management, Behavioral Finance, International Finance, Cross-Border Listings, Household Finance, Financial Literacy, and Digital Finance. Her publications have appeared in leading journals, including Finance Research Letters, International Review of Economics and Finance, Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, and Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy. Key works include 'Liquidity constraints and family labor participation' (Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy, 2023), 'Household Financial Decision Making during COVID-19: Evidence from China' (Emerging Markets Finance and Trade, 2020), 'The Asymmetric Nexus between the Cryptocurrency Market and Stock Market: A TVP-VAR Analysis' (2024), 'Marital house and marriage: evidence from micro-level data' (International Journal of Housing Markets and Analysis, 2024), and 'The rise of digital finance: Financial inclusion or debt trap' (2022). She has earned several honors, such as the Barowsky School of Business Dean’s Outstanding Scholar Award for AY 2021-2022 and AY 2020-2021, the Barowsky School of Business Advisory Board Researcher Award for AY 2020-2021 and AY 2019-2020, and the Dissertation Research Award from Cleveland State University for AY 2014-2015. These achievements highlight her contributions to finance scholarship.
