Audette Smith, LLB, Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, BA (Psychology), GDA, serves as Senior Lecturer in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at Griffith University, based at the Gold Coast campus in the Ian O'Connor Building (G40) 8.31. With more than 25 years of experience as a medical educator working across Australia, she focuses her teaching on health law, ethics, and professional practice within the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program. Audette Smith teaches these subjects across all four years of the MD, convening a number of courses and acting as Module Lead for Health Law, Ethics and Professional Practice (CMPP 1 & 3). Her course materials, such as those developed for 8121MED, include dedicated modules on Law and Ethics Foundations in Practice, equipping medical students with essential knowledge for navigating the legal and ethical challenges of clinical practice.
In addition to her educational contributions, Audette Smith holds a leadership position as Deputy Chairperson of Griffith University's Human Research Ethics Committee, with her term from 21 January 2025 to 31 December 2026.
