Ayush Kumar is a PhD candidate in the Department of Pathology and Biomedical Science at the University of Otago, Christchurch. His doctoral research investigates hydrogen sulfide and substance P in acute pancreatitis. He is a member of the Inflammation Research Group and his PhD supervisors are Professor Madhav Bhatia and Professor Steve Chambers. Ayush Kumar was welcomed to the group as a PhD student in 2020.
Ayush Kumar holds a Master of Pharmacy. He served as Treasurer of the Postgraduate Students of Otago Christchurch (PSOC) committee, responsible for all aspects of financial management for the association. His Google Scholar profile lists research interests in inflammation and neurodegenerative disorders, and verifies his affiliation with the University of Otago, Christchurch. Ayush Kumar's publications include co-authorship on 'Role of Hydrogen Sulfide, Substance P and Adhesion Molecules in Acute Pancreatitis' published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences in 2021. He also co-authored 'Reference range of fetal thorax using two-dimensional and three-dimensional ultrasound in a Chinese population' in BMC Medical Imaging in 2021. His work has received 72 citations on Google Scholar.
