Academic Background: B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (1981), M.S. (1983), and Ph.D. (1986) from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Research Interests: Signal processing, wireless communication networks, information theory, and their applications to neuroengineering.
Appointments: J.S. Abercrombie Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering; Director, Rice Neuroengineering Initiative (NEI).
Awards: IEEE Communications Society Award for Advances in Communication (2012), Fellow of IEEE and AAAS.
Publications: Over 200 refereed journal and conference papers on communication networks and signal processing.
Additional Contributions: Co-founder of the Center for Multimedia Communication at Rice University.
