Rate My Professor Benedito Souza Almeida-Filho

Benedito Souza Almeida-Filho is a professor in the Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Mastology at the Faculdade de Medicina de Botucatu, Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP). He earned his medical degree from the Universidade Federal do Piauí in 2011, followed by specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2014 and in Mastology in 2016. He completed a master’s degree in Gynecology, Obstetrics and Mastology, with defense in 2017. His academic appointments at UNESP include roles in the Breast Assessment Center at Botucatu Clinics Hospital, where he contributes to clinical care, teaching and research in mastology and related fields.

Almeida-Filho’s research focuses on breast cancer, including the effects of vitamin D supplementation on pathological complete response rates during neoadjuvant chemotherapy and the impact of vitamin D deficiency on breast cancer survival and immunohistochemical profiles in postmenopausal women. He has co-authored peer-reviewed publications on these topics, including studies published in 2022 and 2025. In 2017, he co-launched a book on menopause and climacterio. He participates in academic events, lectures and courses on mastology, gynecology and women’s health at UNESP and professional organizations. His work supports clinical practice and education in the Faculty of Medicine at the Botucatu campus.
