Professor Bhaskar Biswas is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of North Bengal, Darjeeling, where he has been serving since February 1, 2019. He currently holds the position of Acting Registrar of the university and served as Head of the Department of Chemistry from February 14, 2024, to February 13, 2026. Additionally, he directed the Centre of Excellence for Advanced Materials (COFAM) from June 25, 2025, to December 24, 2025. His research specializes in inorganic chemistry, with a focus on coordination chemistry, bioinorganic chemistry, bioinspired chemistry, coordination-driven functional materials, and electrocatalysis for sustainable hydrogen production. He leads the Laboratory for Structural Engineering and Sustainable Catalysis (Lab356).
