Mr. Biswarup Chatterjee is an Assistant Professor in the Marketing Area at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Institute of Management Science, Kolkata, where he has been serving for the last five years. His academic background includes a PGDM, equivalent to an MBA as recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, with dual majors in Marketing and Finance. He has recently submitted his doctoral thesis in the field of marketing to the Institute of Management, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, a premier B-school with NAAC 'A' grade, SAQS-AMDISA accreditation, NIRF ranking, and one of the oldest in India. Chatterjee holds the distinction of being an Accredited Management Teacher awarded by the All India Management Association, Delhi. He has acquired certifications and training in teaching-learning processes, pedagogical innovations, research methods and tools, virtual classroom management, marketing research, social networking, and capacity building for management teachers from institutions such as IIM Bangalore, IIM Udaipur, IIT Roorkee, Delhi University, and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Additionally, he possesses C2 level proficiency in English assessed by EF-SET under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Prior to his current role, Chatterjee taught for five years as Assistant Professor at colleges affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, and Kurukshetra University, Haryana, and gained three years of corporate experience in telecom sales and retail operations at Reliance Retail and Reliance Communications. His research interests focus on digital and new-age marketing practices, social media influencers, and the intersection of human psychology and marketing. He has several indexed journal publications and international conference presentations to his credit, including one from Howard University, USA. Serving as Executive Editor of the BIMS Journal of Management, a bi-annual peer-reviewed journal, he contributes significantly to management scholarship. Chatterjee is empaneled by the Department of MSME, Government of India, for conducting Management Development Programmes on marketing and is regularly invited for sessions by reputed colleges.
